Antibalas has been spreading the good word of Afrobeat for more than 20 years around the world. So much so that they have become its best ambassadors. 10 on stage, horns galore, a bass that holds the tune, choirs, percussion that drives you crazy… hypnotizing funk in marathon tracks that put you in a trance. They took over the original Nigerian Afrobeat on their own and simmered it in New York sauce. A more soulful and more Latin afrobeat, but still as groove and crazy as that of Fela Kuti in the 70s, and still as political and demanding in the text.
