Avishai Cohen, who lived up to his reputation as one of the world\u2019s best double bass players last year as the closing act at Jazz Middelheim, will present his album Shifting Sands with his trio. Cohen\u2019s compositions are a subtle palette of worldly and historical impressions, interwoven with the complex tones of Afro-Caribbean music, Israeli folk and also \u2026 classical. Moreover: his latest album Two Roses was recorded with a symphony orchestra. As great as his love for classical music and symphonic orchestras may be, Cohen remains first and foremost a brilliant jazz musician whose love for jazz trios is at least as great.<\/div>\n
