Delvon Lamarr is the name which has been travelling at lightning speed lately between all fans of funky groove, eagerly awaited in Europe. Created in 2015, Delvon Lamarr’s trio has succeeded in gaining recognition and making a name for itself in the United States and internationally.
With Delvon’s stirring organ sound, Jimmy James’ explosive guitar sound and Keith Laudieri’s perfect drums, the three artists have struck the perfect balance between soul, jazz, rhythm ‘n’ blues and rock ‘n’ roll. Their first album, intitled “Close But No Cigar” made it to the top ranking in 2018 of American contemporary jazz albums, followed by “Live at Kexp”, a recording which gives a great insight into the flamboyant stage energy of the Americans.

A real lesson in groove. We are of course reminded of the brilliant Jimmy Smith and all his masterpieces signed on the label Blue Note, but also by extension of the instrumental discs by the “Beastie Boys”. At the heart of an undeniable revival of the whole jazz-soul mouvement of the 1960s, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio stands out and performs on the international stage in a dazzling way, playing willingly and spontaneously a music reduced to its essence: the soul, no more no less.
If you like the Daptone Records sound, rhythm ‘n’ blues of the 1960s and soul roots, no frills, no tricks, this concert is for you.

The trio will be in concert on Sunday, July 10th, 2022 at the Jazz à Juan festival 61st edition!
