Taking advantage of an undeniable revival of the Soul Jazz and Hammond Funk movement, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio from Seattle has established itself in less than five years on the international scene as “The world’s first organ trio”.

This meteoric rise can certainly be explained by “a timeless and addictive feel good music that does us good in this period full of uncertainty” (Guillaume Cohonner – FIP Radio).

Supported by the Colemine Records label, which has become a master in vintage sound, the raw and passionate music of the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio is part of the heritage of African-American instrumental music. We are of course thinking of the masterpieces recorded for the Prestige and Blue Note labels by Reuben Wilson, Jimmy Mc Griff or Leon Spencer to name a few.

Playing to sold out Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio managed to rank in the Billboard and managed to sell thousands of albums. A feat to be noted for an exclusively instrumental group which also breathes new life into the Stax sound and its emblematic “home band”, Booker T and The MG’s.

In other words, the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio is eagerly awaited in Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux at the Saint-Paul Soul Funk Festival, which has more than participated since 2006 in the revival of this Soul Jazz scene.
An evening under the sign of Hammond Funk where Delvon Lamarr and his trio will face another master of the genre.
