From his beginnings as a young trumpeter in Chicago to his current status as an internationally acclaimed musician, composer and bandleader, Marquis Hill has worked tirelessly to break down the barriers that divide musical genres. Contemporary and classic jazz, hip-hop, R&B, Chicago house, neo-soul…
For Hill, these are all essential elements of the deep African-American creative heritage of which he is a part. “It all comes from the same tree,” he says. “They just bloomed from different branches.”

It is therefore ten years after “New Gospel”, that Marquis Hill is back with an album “Revisited”. This album is a live event with a most enticing cast.
With Marquis Hill on trumpet, we find: Joel Ross on vibraphone and piano, Junius Paul on double bass and the drummer Jeremiah Collier.
