Son of the “Windy city”, the young and talented trumpet player and winner of the Thelonious Trumpet Competition published his fourth album, and the first one under the label Concord Jazz, The Way We Play.

Fronting his longstanding ensemble, the Blacktet, consisting of alto saxophonist Christopher McBride, vibraphonist Justin Thomas, bassist Joshua Ramos, and drummer Makaya McCraven, as well as guests, Marquis revisits classics alongside rarities with a subtle creativity.
