After an absence of nearly two years, James Carter Organ Trio returns to France for 2 unmissable shows, in Coutances on May 31st, and La Villette on September 6th. For the Parisian show, the group will reinterpret one of the most influential albums in the Jazz history: “Giant Steps“ by John Coltrane, released in 1960. James Carter, in addition to be a renowned saxophonist, is also a flutist and a clarinetist; this instrumental diversity will allow him to bring new sounds to John Coltrane’s creations. His intensity on stage will impress you for sure.
2014-2015 also mark the 50th anniversary of another fundamental album of Coltrane’s career: “A Love Supreme”. For this anniversary, Christophe Dal Sasso and Lionel Belmondo associate, leading together a big band and revisiting this intense and mystical work. Following a release show at the Cité de la Musique in Paris (4 sold out performances !), they will be on the Esplanade de la Défense for the Jazz Festival on July 1st…
